Guru Mer Kaba's Excellent #WashTheHate Mission

This week we were BLOWN AWAY by JFH hero Guru Mer Kaba’s response to our first nationwide Mission with Wash The Hate. The Mission was to stand in solidarity with the Asian American community against the racist crimes being committed. We’ve received many interpretations of that Mission from the JFH Cast. Vintij demonstrated how to turn anger into peace. Vengeance made an in-character trailer speaking out against anti-Asian racism. Guru Mer Kaba went another route: he kicked some ass AND sent an impactful message. WE LOVE IT. Watch below.

A little background on Guru Mer Kaba—he’s been an active member of the JFH App Test Team for the last few months (The test team helps us refine new features before they go live to the public). He also recently joined the JFH Content Team to experiment with new storytelling methods that will expand the JFH cinematic universe.

Landmark Moment at Hero Meetup XVII

This past weekend, we had a LANDMARK Hero Meetup. We formed the JFH Content Team and the results were utterly groundbreaking.

At our regular Hero Meetup (where anyone is welcome to come and learn about the first crowdsourced show Justice For Hire, watch here), we opened up major SPOILERS for our season finale. We want members of our Content Team to have access to story points before the rest of the community so they can craft content that inspires the rest of the cast. What happened after we revealed these spoilers is what really blew us away. A cast member, who goes by the in-character name M0US3, catalyzed the narrative alignment of Justice For Hire’s next two seasons.

Letting the community in on story points that we previously kept secret not only allowed us, as the production team, to feel more connected to our audience, but also allowed the audience to completely elevate the future of our series! One intentional session with our community just supercharged our brand and our strategy.

These types of guided, participatory fan experiences will become pivotal to the future of the film & television industry. This is the ecosystem we’re lucky enough to be focused on daily with ReelwUrld, the studio that produces Justice For Hire. Everyone is uplifted through collaboration. Everyone knows that their perspective matters. Everyone’s story is a beam in the bridge we are building toward a shared goal together. All of this centralized on a single app.

A quick side note: A great example of the feeling we are working toward with Justice For Hire’s cinematic universe is in Marvel’s latest Phase 4 trailer. The shot in the trailer (made on someone’s phone) where an entire theater explodes into cheers as Captain America summons Thor’s hammer is the energy we are focused on cultivating with our community.

Hero Meetup XVII TOMORROW, Very Important One

We’re kicking off May strong with a Hero Meetup on Saturday, May 1 (TOMORROW) at 2pm ET/ 11am PT. If there was ever a Hero Meetup to attend, this is it. We’ll brainstorm our second nationwide mission and experiment with ways to collaborate on that storyline as a collective unit. RSVP here.

Think Thanos collecting infinity stones and we’re the Avengers--we’ll come up with a storyline like this, but with a more grounded tone that’s more aligned with Justice For Hire’s universe rules. Once we decide on this storyline, heroes across the country will be able to connect their own, unique, local stories to this larger narrative. When we say “we’re building this together,” this is what we mean. Every hero lays down their brick that creates our cinematic universe.

This Hero Meetup is an extremely important part in testing out processes that will soon release on our app. In fact, so important, that we’re recruiting for our new JFH Content Team starting tomorrow. If you’re interested in joining, come to the Meetup to get a taste of what you’re signing up for.
