On a mission to elevate fan-made content to blockbuster status, Justice For Hire (JFH) has partnered with The Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza to kick off San Diego Comic-Con with a challenge: whoever makes the best martial arts scene will get featured on the panel alongside action film icons.

The Kung Fu Extravaganza Challenge aligns with Justice For Hire’s mission of making the entertainment industry more accessible and inclusive to the fans who ultimately fund the studios’ ability to dictate culture for better or worse,” said JFH creator and Tai Chi world champion Jan Lucanus. “We’re calling upon all martial artists to create their own action scenes.”

JFH is a cinematic universe starring fans. Scenes created on the JFH app fuel the Justice For Hire series; fans create their own characters on the app and star in the Justice For Hire series alongside professional actors, world-renowned martial artists, and pro fighters. “As a long time fan, supporter, and participant in the Justice for Hire media universe, it was always a pleasure to welcome Jan Lucanus and his inventive concept to the live stage of my San Diego Comic Con Kung Fu Extravaganza; and even more so this year with a special contest to see which JFH-er can make the best kung fu film short for our 24th annual event,” said Ric Meyers, the world’s leading martial arts historian, host of the Extravaganza, and judge of Justice For Hire’s Kung Fu Extravaganza Challenge.

The Kung Fu Extravaganza panel, San Diego Comic-Con’s longest-running annual presentation, will stream online in partnership with Well Go USA’s streaming channel Hi-Yah!, Urban Action Showcase & Expo, film tech startup ReelwUrld, That Phat Samurai Guy’s YouTube Channel, and others, in light of San Diego Comic-Con’s abbreviated Thursday programming.

The Kung Fu Extravaganza is a showcase of guest stars, surprise appearances, sneak peeks, premieres, and the best Asian action film sequences of the year. “It is extremely important to us that we continue to support and preserve the genre that gave us our first non-white superheroes on the Big Screen in the '70s and has continued to influence Action Cinema today from Marvel to Warner Bros,” said Demetrius Angelo, founder & producer of the Urban Action Showcase & Expo, which will be providing the VR fan experience for the Extravaganza.

The Extravaganza will go live on Thursday, July 22nd at 6 pm PST on Youtube.

The VR fan experience is currently available online.

Submit your action scene to the JFH app by July 22 at 3pm EST for consideration.

With our app COMPLETE, the Cowboy shoot wrapped, and a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con, let's talk what's next.

Hero Meetup XIX will detail all the ways you can get involved in EVERY episode of Justice For Hire. We'll also talk about the importance and impact of owning both your character and your piece of the JFH world. You are the key to building something that's never been built before.

Lastly, Jan will demo the Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza Challenge, which is currently live on the app. The best submissions will be screened at the Extravaganza during Comic-Con on July 22.

See you on Saturday. RSVP here.

Calling all martial artists! Donnie Yen 2.0’s! John Wick wannabees!

We’ve got a special new CHALLENGE for you. Shoot a scene of yourself in action and you’ll be in the running to be featured on the 24th annual Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza panel during San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 22 at 6pm PST.

Be sure to pay close attention to our safety rules in the instructional video below. Action doesn't have to mean fighting. There are loads of creative ways to show your talent.

The Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza, hosted by Ric Meyers, celebrates the year’s best action scenes in film & TV. But we’re hoping they’ve got nothing on YOU. The best videos will be premiered on the panel for the entire world to see.

JFH is honored to be a part of Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza once again this year, which is sponsored by our production studio ReelwUrld alongside Well Go USA, WarnerMedia’s Urban Action Showcase, and more. Meyers, a longtime JFH supporter (as seen in this promo) who we are very grateful for, is an inductee into multiple martial arts halls of fame, is also the screenwriter of Amazon Prime’s Films of Fury: The Kung Fu Movie Movie as well as a consultant for Kung Fu Panda and the up-coming Minions: The Rise of Gru.

The more competition the better so tell your friends. Get on the JFH app as a Hero or Villain, shoot your scene, and be prepared to join in on the conversation on Thursday, July 22. Submit by July 19. Happy ass-kicking.
